FAQ

  • What types of Massage do you offer?

I offer customized massage sessions based on your needs and goals. This may include relaxation work, deep tissue, myofascial techniques, cupping, scraping, lymphatic support, TMJ work, intraoral massage, prenatal massage, and other targeted techniques when appropriate.

  • Do you customize each session?

Yes. Every session is tailored to you. Some clients need focused pain relief, some need stress reduction, and some need a little of both. Your massage is based on what your body needs that day.

  • Do I have to choose the exact massage type when I book?

No. You do not need to figure it all out beforehand. You can let me know what is bothering you, and I will help determine the best approach for your session. If you would like certain add-ons feel free to let me know.

  • What should I expect my first appointment?

Your first visit includes a brief intake, paperwork, and time to talk about what you are experiencing and what you want help with. From there, I will customize your session so we can work toward the best possible results.

  • Do you offer Deep Tissue Massage?

Yes. Deep tissue is one of the many tools I use when appropriate. It is meant to address deeper layers of tension, but more pressure is not always better. The goal is effective work, not just suffering for the plot.

  • Do you offer TMJ Massage?

Yes. I offer TMJ-focused massage for jaw tension, clenching, facial pain, and related neck tension and headaches. Intraoral massage may also be used if appropriate and with your consent.

  • What is Intraoral Massage?

Intraoral massage is a technique that involves working inside the mouth to address tension in the muscles of the jaw. It can be very helpful for TMJ dysfunction, clenching, and chronic jaw pain. This work is always discussed beforehand and only done with your full consent. I will wear gloves when working inside the mouth.

  • Do you offer Prenatal Massage?

Yes. Prenatal massage is available for expecting mothers who want support for the physical stress of pregnancy, including low back pain, hip tension, swelling, and overall discomfort.

  • What is Trauma Informed Bodywork?

Trauma-informed bodywork is a slower, more supportive approach that emphasizes safety, consent, nervous system regulation, and client comfort. The goal is to help you feel supported in your body without pushing you into overwhelm.

  • Will Massage hurt?

Massage should not feel unbearable to be effective. Some focused work can feel intense, but I do not believe you need to grit your teeth and suffer through it for results. Your body tends to respond better when it feels safe enough to let go.

  • What should I wear?

Wear whatever you are comfortable in. Most massage is done with the client undressed to their comfort level and properly draped at all times. If a session is better done with clothing on, I will let you know.

  • Do I have to undress completely?

No. Many clients choose to, while others keep on their undergarments. You will always be modestly draped.

  • How often should I get a Massage?

That depends on your goals, stress levels, pain patterns, and how your body responds to treatment. Some people come in occasionally for maintenance, while others benefit from more regular sessions for chronic issues.

  • Can massage help with headaches, jaw pain, or neck tension?

In many cases, yes. Massage can help reduce muscular tension that contributes to headaches, jaw discomfort, and neck pain. TMJ work and focused neck and shoulder treatment can be especially helpful for some clients.

  • Do you offer relaxation massage too, or only pain relief work?

Both. Some clients come in for pain relief and corrective work, while others simply need a chance to breathe, decompress, and stop carrying the weight of the world in their shoulders.

  • Do you offer online booking?

At this time, appointments are booked directly through me by phone, text, or Facebook. This allows me to better control my schedule and make sure clients are booked into the right amount of time for what they need.

  • How do I book an appointment?

You can book by phone, text, or Facebook message. If you are unsure what to book, just reach out and tell me what is going on.

  • What if I do not know what session length I need?

That is completely fine. If you are not sure, contact me and tell me what areas are bothering you or what you are hoping to accomplish, and I can help guide you.

  • Is massage covered by insurance?

In some situations it is. I don’t directly bill insurance for you. Typically, I provide an itemized receipt for you to submit to your insurance for reimbursement. It is always best to check your policy to be sure as I don’t guarantee reimbursement.

  • Is this a good fit if I have chronic pain or an old injury?

Often, yes. I work with many clients dealing with chronic tension, repetitive strain, old injuries, and stubborn pain patterns. Sessions are adapted to your body and tolerance level.

  • What makes your work different?

I bring years of experience, continuing education, and a highly customized approach to each session. I do not do cookie-cutter massage. I listen, assess, and work with intention so clients get care that actually fits them.

  • What is your cancellation policy?

Your appointment time is reserved just for you. Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice, or missed entirely, will be charged the full session fee.

I absolutely understand that life happens—if you wake up sick or have a true emergency, just let me know as soon as you can and we’ll work through it.
